Sognato acquarello e dipinto a smalto

Sognato acquarello e dipinto a smalto - 1984 sits on the page as a soft field of colour with a few clear marks.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The sheet keeps a calm look, and the painted surface reads as layered and quiet. Mario Schifano worked in aquatint and enamel paint during this period, often using flat colour and small drawn notes.

The white frame gives the sheet a clean edge on the wall and leaves the soft tones open. It fits above a kitchen counter where the overhead light keeps the pale areas visible and the small marks stay easy to read.
