Spring Landscape — Fine Art

Spring Landscape by Claude Monet turns a garden path into a scattering of green and pale yellow shapes. The brushwork reads as separate strokes of colour that stay loose even from a distance.

At close range the marks separate into small patches of paint laid over one another. A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel carries the same open paint handling.

The matte paper keeps the greens and yellows from shining under a lamp. It fits a hallway wall near the stair landing where the pale greens brighten the steps. On the landing you see the loose colour patches, near the door the separate strokes come through.
