About this work
Still Life, 1948- opens on a quiet arrangement of flat shapes set against an open field. The eye settles on the heavy forms near the centre and rests there.
Helen Frankenthaler used thin paint laid into bare paper, a colour field painting method she made her own. The work arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw.
No separate frame to buy. You can place this fine art print above a flanked counter in a working kitchen. From the doorway you see the broad shapes settle, and closer you notice small edges where the paint thins out.
