Still Life by Lee Krasner

A bowl of fruit rests on a tablecloth, or so it seems. Lee Krasner’s *Still Life* refuses stillness from the first glance. Charcoal scribbles loop into pears, while cadmium red smears suggest apples. The tablecloth dissolves into a storm of ochre and slate, its folds more felt than seen. Every mark feels urgent, as if the fruit might roll off the canvas at any moment. Hang it where morning light skims the wall—above a sideboard or beside a reading chair, where its restless energy can breathe.
