About this work

Structural Constellation 1950 0

Structural Constellation 1950 0 uses a narrow set of shapes arranged in a measured layout. The forms hold their own space and do not crowd one another. Josef Albers studied how tones meet on a sheet. The method stays visible in the way the shapes repeat.

A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel holds the image flat. The board behind keeps the surface steady on a shelf. The matte paper softens the tones so nothing glares under a lamp.

In a study room the shapes read from the desk without competing with books. From the doorway the layout stays clear against the painted plaster.
