Studio Painting 1961 1 — Fine Art

Studio Painting 1961 1 by Robert Rauschenberg holds broad painted shapes over a muted ground, with transfer ink and cloth marks working across the field.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The surface mixes paint and print methods in the way the artist often combined them.

A white frame gives the edges a clean stop on the wall, and the solid frame border keeps the scattered marks from drifting off the picture. It works well on a bedroom side wall, where the soft grey areas stay calm in morning light and the small cloth strokes show near the bed.
