Study for Homage to the Square — Fine Art

Flat colour bands form a nested square painting in this Study for Homage to the Square. Josef Albers worked in flat colour and measured edges across the sheet. The bands sit one inside another with a quiet rhythm. A fine art print keeps those colour steps clear.

The white frame gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The white line holds the square bands without adding a new colour.

In a study room, the square bands read as four stacked shapes from the desk. The top band is the widest, the inner one is the narrowest.
