About this work
Sunset at Ambleteuse 1899 shows a low shore fading into a sandy band under a warm sky. A thin strip of water meets a darker beach in the foreground. The sky holds a soft orange near the centre, with cooler grey tones climbing toward the top.
Theo van Rysselberghe worked in a pointillist painting practice, laying small dots together to build colour. The fine art print uses a matte paper that keeps these painted marks calm under a light. A wood frame finish gives the edge a warm brown line against the beach tones.
It suits a reading corner above a low desk. From the chair you see the orange strip first. The dots resolve into a quiet shore under the lamp.
