About this work
Survivals Shore - 1980 by Ronnie Landfield shows a field of colour divided into wide painted bands. The surface holds the broad strokes side by side, each band a different hue laid down in one steady move.
From across a kitchen you notice the big colour shapes. The fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel.
The matte paper keeps the paint-like bands soft, so the glare from a cooker light does not wash them out. The frame adds a clean edge around the picture. In a narrow study hallway, the painted bands read as simple blocks of tone, and the back panel keeps the picture flat against the plaster.
