About this work
Synthetic Construction White and Black 1966 sets white planes against black lines on a plain field. The white sits near the top and the black forms hold the lower half. Black and white stay separate, each shape reading against the other. Victor Pasmore built forms this way in his constructed work.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. A framed print hangs on a pale wall near the ceiling line so the black lines read from below. Light from a lamp above falls across the white area and keeps the lower black shapes clear.
It fits a study wall above a desk where you see the black lines as you sit and the white field at your side. From the desk you notice the straight edges and the plain background holding them.
