Tabula — Fine Art

The field inside Tabula - 1981 is built from folded paper that opens and presses flat, leaving a broken surface of pale paint. The eye lands on the widest band near the centre, then moves across the lighter gaps on either side.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black, and the finish gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white frame keeps the pale ground open, while a darker finish sets the folded lines apart from the room behind it.

It works on a sunlit landing strip where the steps cross the picture at an angle. From the bottom step you read the broad bands first, and from the top you notice the small pressed edges and the uneven paint stops.
