About this work
Tekers-MC - 1981 uses a stepped field of blue and white bars that read as one flat surface from a distance. Victor Vasarely built the optical colour work into the op art movement by stacking repeated forms to shift tone across the picture. The shapes sit in clean rows.
This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. You see the stepped colour field on matte paper, where the light blues stay soft under a ceiling light. The frame holds the edge straight, and the back panel keeps the print flat.
It fits a long hallway with pale paint where the optical colour work stays clear from the door. From the landing you read the blue and white bars before you notice the sharp corners in the rows.
