Un téléphone à cadran rotatif à l'ancienne flotte sur un fond uni. Le Téléphone de Warhol isole l'objet, le dépouillant de son contexte ou de son cordon.
Le combiné repose en biais, le récepteur niché dans la courbe de la base. L'encre noire définit les contours ; pas d'ombrage, pas de reflets. Un unique cadran se trouve au centre, ses trous perforés comme un œil mécanique. L'image se lit à la fois comme un portrait et une nature morte, une relique rendue en deux dimensions.
