The Bed in the Mirror — Fine Art

The Bed in the Mirror shows a bed seen through a mirror surface. Henri Matisse painted the bed with flat colour areas and a clear outline. The mirror gives a second view of the same room. The picture stays with simple shapes and a quiet arrangement.

This fine art print sits on a wall where light falls evenly across the surface. A light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall lets the mirror image sit without competing. The matte paper keeps the flat colour areas from shining under a lamp.

It works on a bedroom wall above the bed, seen from the doorway at a short distance. You notice the mirror line and the bed shape first, then the small painted edges near the frame. The room stays calm around it.
