About this work

The Checked Mug

The Checked Mug - 1986 shows a mug with a checked pattern sitting on a plain ground. Mary Fedden painted still lifes with simple shapes and flat colour. The surface is smooth and the lines stay even across the picture.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a separate frame.

It fits a kitchen wall above the sink. From the doorway you see the checked pattern clearly. The metal hanger keeps the print level without extra work.
