The First Theater

The First Theater - PD Pattern and Decoration by Miriam Schapiro uses pattern and decoration shapes that sit on the surface. The marks are built from repeated lines and filled areas, with each block set beside the next. You see the hand laid colour in the rhythm of the forms.

This fine art frame in white, wood, dark wood or black gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. The frame finish sits straight against the pattern and decoration shapes, and the edge keeps the busy surface from running off the sheet.

In a hallway it reads from the door as a row of filled shapes crossing the wall. Step closer and the repeated lines in each block come into view.

As a guide: 40×50 cm suits a desk or small wall, 50×70 cm sits well above a sofa or bed, and 70×100 cm anchors a room as a focal piece. If you'd like advice for your space, send us your dimensions and we'll recommend a size.

For your country, this piece is estimated at 5 to 8 business days from the moment you order, including production, with free tracked delivery. Every piece is made to order by the print partner closest to you; framed pieces take a little longer because each one is framed and checked before dispatch. These are estimates, and there is no express option. Full country-by-country ranges are on our estimated delivery times page, and you can see exactly how your piece is packed.

If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and your order number, and keep all packaging. We will send a free replacement at no cost to you. See our refund policy for the full process.
