About this work
The Jugglers, 1951 shows several open shapes standing on a plain sheet. Helen Frankenthaler painted broad areas of colour that soak into the ground. The work belongs to the abstract expressionist period. The shapes sit apart, with space between them.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A black frame gives the picture a firm edge, so the open shapes stay clear against the wall. The white frame keeps the edge quiet and lets the colour carry the view.
Hang it above a console in a hallway where daylight comes from one side. From across the hall you see the whole sheet and the space between the shapes. Up close the paint sits flat and open on the surface.
