The Mannequin

The Mannequin by Hans Hofmann places a simple standing figure in a room with painted colours around it. Broad strokes and clear colour areas fill the sheet, in the style of abstract expressionist painting. The figure reads as a quiet shape among moving colour.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel. You can use the ready to hang option and the piece arrives assembled. The matte finish keeps the colours even where the paint is thick.

It works on a shelf in a study, where the painted figure stays calm above the desk. From the doorway the colour areas pull forward and the figure stays small.
