The Oilmill

The Oilmill shows a building among trees, painted in the way Paul Cézanne works. Warm greens and browns meet cool blue grey skies.

The tones sit next to each other without blending. You can see separate brush strokes laid side by side on the paper surface. This fine art print keeps those colour relations clear.

The matte paper shows the marks without shine. A light frame on a dark study wall puts the building shapes forward. From the reading chair you notice the tree lines and the roof line before the sky.
