The Path of Forest 1928 by Andre Derain

A tree lined path runs into the distance in The Path of Forest 1928. The paint sits in short thick strokes that push the walkway forward.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. Andre Derain worked in this fauvist style, building ground and trunks from colour units. The white frame gives the picture a clean line on the wall.

It keeps the light greens and browns from spreading past the edge. You notice the dark tree shapes first, then the small strokes in the leaves.
