The Path through the Forest

The Path through the Forest by Pierre-Auguste Renoir follows a tree-lined walk into soft shade. Sunlight touches the leaves in broken strokes and the path fades ahead.

This scene sits within the artist wider work on woodland walks and light in the trees. The fine art print uses a matte paper so the greens stay calm and the shadows do not shine under a lamp.

A light frame on a dark wall keeps the path clear at eye height. It fits a study wall above a desk. From the doorway you see the pale path first, then the darker leaves behind it.
