The Prophet 1992 by Zao Wou-Ki

The Prophet 1992 by Zao Wou-Ki shows a wide open field with soft shifts between tones. A single broad mark crosses the surface with firm pressure that fades to a thin end. The brushwork moves with speed and settles into a quiet shape.

The black frame gives the picture a clear edge against the tones. The dark wood finish sits along the border and keeps the edges sharp where the colour fades. This fine art print keeps the gesture readable without shine.

It works on a hallway wall under a ceiling lamp. From the landing you see the big shape first, then the thin end of the stroke closer to the frame.
