The Seasons

The Seasons - 1975 by Brice Marden presents a quiet field of colour with a few drawn lines set into the surface. The marks move across the sheet without hurry. The picture belongs to the measured abstract practice that Brice Marden kept over many years.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The white frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. Against the soft tones of this image the white finish stays calm and does not compete with the drawn lines.

In a study with a single desk lamp the drawn lines catch the light at a distance. From the doorway the broad colour band reads first, and then the small pencil marks become visible.
