The Trees by Andre Derain — Fine Art

The Trees by Andre Derain shows a row of trees against a broad ground. The shapes are built from strong colour areas and thick marks.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The work sits in the Fauvist period, when artists used bold colour instead of careful tones. A white frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall.

The white band separates the image from the wall and lets the bright greens and earth tones read without distraction. It suits a hallway wall where the paint marks stay clear from the door. On that wall you see the tree trunks and the open ground beneath them.
