The Vanquished

The Vanquished works as a late painting in the abstract expressionist practice of Hans Hofmann. Bold colour planes and quick brush marks push and pull across the sheet. You see the artist testing how warm and cool areas meet.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print arrives ready to hang with a metal hanger on the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte paper keeps the painted strokes from looking glossy under a lamp.

In a narrow hallway you notice the strong colour bands first, then the quicker marks closer up. It stays clear from the landing and reads differently from the stairs.
