Through Sleep to Orange — Fine Art

Through Sleep to Orange places a soft orange wash over a quiet field of darker tones. The painting uses thin layers and soft edges that overlap without hard lines.

Alice Baber often worked with colour washes and translucent paint to let one field sit inside another. The fine art print keeps those layers clear so the lighter orange reads over the lower tones.

On a pale wall at eye level the orange field stays open and the lower tones rest below it. From across the room the colour stays flat and even, up close the paper shows the soft build of the paint.
