About this work
The title Tii-205 - 1965 points to a Daniel Buren work built from repeated bands. In this fine art print, the stripes run across the sheet in a steady rhythm, with a few shifts in tone between them.
Hang the frame a little below eye level on a pale wall, so the bands catch light without glare. A light frame on a dark wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture, can follow the room instead of fighting it. The matte paper keeps the stripes flat and readable.
In a narrow hallway, the repeating bands guide the eye along the passage. You notice the shifts between the stripes as you walk past. At the end of the hall, the last band sits just under the light at the ceiling.
