Tischmatte, Büro Hegenheimerstrasse, Base by Dieter Roth (1994) — Poster

A place mat rests on a desk, its edges slightly worn. This is Tischmatte, Büro Hegenheimerstrasse, Base, a work by Dieter Roth that finds beauty in the mundane. The simplicity of the scene invites a closer look, revealing the quiet poetry of everyday objects. The artwork captures the essence of a lived-in space. The place mat, rendered in soft grays and whites, sits against a muted background. Subtle textures and gentle shading hint at the passage of time, the faint marks of use adding depth to the composition. Roth's keen eye transforms the ordinary into something quietly profound. This print suits a study or a minimalist kitchen, where its understated elegance can be appreciated in the quiet moments of daily life.
