To the Studios 1991 by Frank Auerbach shows the artist studio as a thick field of marks. Dark brown and grey sit against a warm tan ground. The paint is worked and scraped until the surface holds many layers.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print uses a matte paper so the dark marks stay flat and the warm tan does not shine. A light frame keeps the darker marks readable on a pale surface.
