To the Unknown Voice 1916 opens on a soft ground with small marks placed across it. A few coloured shapes sit near the centre while thin lines drift around them. The marks vary in pressure, some pressed harder than others.

This fine art print is set in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface keeps the lighter tones from shining under a lamp. Each mark stays flat against the sheet.

In a reading corner the small coloured shapes sit on the left side of the wall. From the chair you see the drift of the thin lines and the quiet tone of the ground.
