Tondo3Colors

Three flat colour bands sit on a plain ground. The middle band shifts to a different hue and the outer band closes the shape. Carmen Herrera worked with hard edges and clear colour choices.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. Tondo3Colors - 1958 takes its name from the round form and the three tones laid across it. The marks are simple and the edges stay sharp. The paper is matte and the ink sits on top without shine.

A metal hanger is fitted to the back and the print goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame is needed. It works on a bedroom wall near a warm lamp. From the doorway the three bands read as one shape, and the plain ground keeps the room calm.
