About this work
Heads of colour sit on a thin ground in Towards a New Climate, 1957-. The paint spreads and pools where the brush lifted, leaving soft edges and open patches. Helen Frankenthaler worked with thin washes that soak into the surface. The marks are broad and deliberate.
The fine art print comes ready to hang. The frame edge is clean and plain, keeping the shapes inside and away from the wall. A white frame keeps the light areas open, while a black frame pulls the darker washes farther in. Choose the finish that matches the tone you want for this image.
It fits a study wall above a desk, where the open fields stay calm and the brush lines stay visible at arm length.
