Towards Disappearance II places a few soft colour bands across an open white field. The eye lands on the middle band first, then drifts to the empty space around it.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. Sam Francis built the picture with thin washes that leave the edges slightly unstated. The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame is needed.

The matte surface keeps the lighter washes from shining under a lamp, so the open areas stay quiet. It works well on a hallway wall beside a coat hook. From the landing you see the broad bands first, and the small gaps between them only when you stop in the passage.
