Trasparente — Fine Art

Trasparente - 1977 uses the translucent colour washes that Carla Accardi made her own. Broad painted strokes move across the surface with a quick wrist movement, leaving open edges where the paint thins out. The work belongs to Italian abstract painting of the late twentieth century.

The fine art piece hangs on a wall where the light falls flat and even. A light frame on a dark wall, a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture keeps the painted surface readable.

It works in a study above a desk. From the chair you read the broad colour field first, then the thinner painted lines at the edge. The wall stays calm and the picture holds its own space.
