Treble — Fine Art

Treble - 1975 opens on a row of painted colour bands that step across the sheet. Each band holds one steady hue, set side by side.

The bands move from one side to the other in a single direction. A fine art print, set in a frame with a back panel, keeps the flat colour fields crisp.

The frame sits flush against the wall, and the back panel covers the back of the print. It works beside a sink in a kitchen where the overhead light hits the flat tones. You notice the even hue changes across the bands before you see the edge of the frame.
