Untitled #1 - 1971 shows painted bands of colour laid across the sheet in one steady direction. Each band holds one hue through the length of the mark. Gene Davis followed this stripe practice for years, working with hard edges and flat colour.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black and gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A black frame keeps the strong bands from spreading past the sheet.

A reading corner works with these bands. From the chair you see the colour changes one after another, and the painted lines stay in their own lane.
