Untitled 1 by Philip Guston uses the blunt shapes and heavy paint that run through much of his painting. The image holds the broken outline and rough colour that mark his later work. The figure stays hard to read, built from a few blunt forms on a plain ground.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The white frame gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. That white border keeps the busy paint from spilling into the surrounding room. It also sits plain against the thick strokes inside the image.

Hang it on the bedroom wall over the chest. From the bed you catch the blunt shapes first, then the small paint ridges near the frame.
