Untitled 1941 1 shows fast black and white strokes pushing across the sheet. The brush goes hard at the start then lifts off at the ends. Jackson Pollock laid the paint down in short, uneven runs. You can trace the pressure in each line and see where the hand moved faster or slower.

The fine art print uses a matte paper that keeps the black lines soft without shine. A light frame on a dark wall lets the white spaces stand out and a dark frame on a pale wall does the opposite.

It hangs on a dining room wall beside a wooden chair. From the table you see the long runs first, and when you walk past the small breaks in the paint become clear. The room stays simple and the picture draws the eye without crowding it.
