Untitled - 1952 by Mark Rothko has two wide painted bands sitting on the sheet. The upper band holds a warm brown tone, and the lower one runs darker. The bands blur at the edges where the tones meet. From across the dining room the shapes read as simple blocks of tone. Up close the paper grain shows through the paint, and the edges feel soft rather than sharp.

The print arrives as a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. When the ready to hang option is used, it comes assembled. The matte paper keeps the brown and dark tones from shining under a lamp.
