Untitled - 1960 shows a block of pale paint set against a darker ground. The painted area sits off centre and leaves much of the sheet open. Jeremy Moon built his pictures with flat colour and straight edges, so the eye moves across the plain parts before it reaches the painted block.

The fine art frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A plain frame edge settles the painted block without crowding it. The white finish leaves the pale paint open. The dark wood finish holds the darker ground and gives the block a firm line.

On a kitchen wall beside a table, the painted block meets the morning light. You notice the flat colour first, then the open sheet around it. The frame keeps the picture clear from the doorway and from the chair at the table.
