About this work
Untitled - 1963 shows thin pencil lines drawn over a translucent sheet of paper. The lines sit close together and leave most of the sheet open.
Mira Schendel worked this way with thin supports and faint drawing. The fine art print sets the image inside a frame with a back panel so the paper feel stays steady.
The matte surface keeps the pale lines soft without a shine under a desk lamp. It fits well on a study room wall beside a bookshelf. You notice the paper edges first, then the single drawn line passing near the bottom.
