About this work
Untitled - 1968 by Robert Goodnough shows broad painted bands layered over a flat ground. The paint sits in separate areas, and the edges stay open where one colour meets the next.
The fine art print comes ready to hang. The picture belongs to the abstract expressionist practice Robert Goodnough followed for many years. The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to find a separate frame.
The matte paper keeps the painted bands from shining under a lamp, so the lighter areas stay even. Hang it on a side wall in a dining room, where the open edges read clearly from the table. From there you notice the separate painted areas and the way the bands sit apart.
