About this work
Untitled - 1969 by Fred Sandback shows thin lines held in space with thread and tape. The work uses straight runs and right angles set against a plain wall. The artist built spatial drawings with simple materials and small shifts in direction. The thread lines catch a bit of light and cast a soft shadow on the surface behind them.
The print comes with a fine art frame in white, wood, dark wood or black. The frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A black frame keeps the line drawing sharp and separate from the wall around it.
It fits a narrow hallway with a single bulb overhead. From the end of the hall you see the lines step forward in space. You notice the thin threads and the clean bar holding them in place.
