About this work
Untitled 1971 by Luis Feito uses strong black shapes set against a flat coloured ground. The marks look like quick strokes laid over a soft field.
The image stays loose and open, with the dark forms pushing forward and the ground holding them back. The picture belongs to the postwar Spanish abstract painting tradition, where gesture and colour carry the picture. The paper is matte, so the dark shapes stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp.
You get a fine art print that arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. It works on a bedroom wall near a warm lamp, where the black shapes read clear and the ground stays quiet.
