Untitled — Fine Art

Untitled - 1995 by Maria Helena Vieira da Silva uses the layered line work she built into her practice over many years. Lines cross and overlap on the sheet, forming paths that shift across the surface. The marks stay thin and close together in places, and they spread out in others.

A fine art print keeps the thin lines soft on paper. The frame finish can follow the room, with a light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture.

On a bedroom wall above the bed, the crossed lines read as a quiet pattern before sleep. From the doorway you catch the thin lines first, and closer up you notice how the white spaces open between them.
