Untitled — Fine Art

Untitled - 2013 by Etel Adnan uses a loose brushstroke over a soft field of colour. The wet paint crosses the surface in one direction, leaving thin runs and small gaps where the layer is thin. Etel Adnan often built her abstract landscapes with this kind of quick gesture on canvas or paper.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The print sits on a matte sheet, so the painted area reads flat and the dark tone stays steady under a lamp. A light frame suits a pale wall, a dark frame sits better on a deep wall, and a wood frame works beside wooden furniture.

It fits a kitchen wall above the counter, where morning light falls across the painted band and the small gaps in the stroke become clear.
