About this work
Untitled Abstract - 1977 shows broad painted areas and loose edge shapes on a pale ground. The shapes move across the sheet without hard lines, and the paint reads as one surface from a doorway. Alexander Liberman worked with painted colour fields and broad gestures, and this image carries that approach.
The print is a fine art piece that arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. For this picture the matte finish keeps the broad colour areas even and stops any shine catching the light.
In a hallway with a narrow bare wall the big painted areas read as one calm shape from the lower landing. The eye does not chase small marks, and the surface stays even under the hall light.
