About this work
Untitled February - 1970 by Lorser Feitelson shows bands of colour laid across a quiet field. The lines hold their tone without fading into the background. You can follow one band from the left side to the right side and back to the left side.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The paper is matte, so the greys stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp on the wall. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the bands separate from the room around them.
On a narrow hallway wall with a single bulb overhead, the bands run parallel to the walkway. From the end of the hall you see the sweep of colour before you notice the paper grain. You step closer and the edge of the band holds its shape.
