Untitled in 8 Parts — Fine Art

Untitled in 8 Parts - 1992 divides the sheet into eight separate fields of paint. The eye goes to the divisions first, then settles on the color within each one.

Gunther Forg keeps the painted areas flat and even, with little empty space between them. The print keeps those blocks as they sit on the paper. A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel holds the picture steady.

The matte surface lets each painted section read without shine. It works well on the wall in a study corner above a desk. From the doorway you notice the eight parts before you see the small details in the paint.
