Untitled JUDDO0517 — Fine Art

Untitled JUDDO0517 - 1979 shows a set of flat painted planes set against a plain ground. The lines start at each edge and meet in a short middle band. Donald Judd worked with hard edge geometry and serial form. The fine art print keeps those edges sharp and the colour stays even.

A light frame sits on a darker wall, or a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. The matte paper does not add shine, so the planes read clearly under ceiling light.

In a study, the unit sits on a low partition wall. You notice the middle band first, then the flat planes to each side. The wood frame sits beside a desk.
